نبض (Nabd)
Platform · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.
Overview
نبض (Nabd, Arabic for «pulse») is an Arabic-language news aggregator: an app and a site into which material flows from thousands of publications, TV channels, agencies and blogs, while the reader assembles a feed from sources of their own choosing.
There is no extended self-description in the markup of the home page: og:description and meta description on nabd.com are empty. The platform explains itself not on the site but in the app store listings: «the first free app that gives you the latest news from the sources you choose — local, world, political, sports, tech and women's, with breaking news notifications».
Nabd is not a social network: there is no feed of subscriptions, no author profiles and no user posts. It is a showcase of other people's news plus an advertising dashboard. There are two ways of working with the platform: getting into it as a news source, or buying advertising in it.
Who's here
The audience is stated by the platform itself, and the statements disagree.
The advertising site calls Nabd «the largest personalized Arabic content platform with 32 million active users». The Google Play listing gives a different number: «more than 40 million people use the Nabd app». The same is repeated in the description of the iOS app: «the first news app in the Arab world to reach 40 million users». Both numbers are the platform's own claims, and they are about different things: «active» versus «use». They cannot be set against each other as a trend.
Store metrics can be checked independently. Google Play shows more than 10 million downloads, a rating of 4.6 and 865 thousand reviews, a USK age rating of «all ages», and the labels «contains ads» and «in-app purchases», with an update date there of 12 May 2026. Apple's directory gives, for the iOS version, a rating of about 4.37 from 11,672 ratings, a «4+» rating, version 12.8 of 19 July 2026 and a minimum of iOS 15.
Geography is visible from the structure of the site: the home page picks out sections for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Lebanon, Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, Oman, Iraq and Algeria, and the newsletter sign-up form adds Qatar, Syria, Sudan and Mauritania. The interface language is Arabic; the advertising dashboard exists in Arabic and English versions.
Getting started
There is no separate business account on the news site itself: nabd.com is a showcase for reading. There are two practical entrances.
For an advertiser. The dashboard is called Nabd AdManager and registration is open: the account creation form asks for an email, a name, a phone number, a company name, a website address, a country, a region, an address and a field of activity, and asks separately whether the company is an advertising agency. The platform calls this a self-service platform and promises that AdManager lets you launch a campaign in minutes.
For a publication. The only public contact is the advertising department's email, [email protected], and the company's address is given as Nabd's offices in Dubai Media City, UAE.
The platform names the number of sources differently in different places: the app site says more than 1500 news sources, while the Google Play description says more than 2000.
What you can publish
There are no user posts on the platform. Content arrives in the feed from source publications; a reader can only choose sources, subscribe and «share» — the app lets you send any news item to X (Twitter), Facebook, by email and by SMS.
The thematic grid is set by the platform: the home page picks out breaking, world, sport, economy, health, technology, cars, «Hawa» (the women's section), knowledge, cooking, tourism, and also live broadcasts and a deals section — a separate subdomain with goods, where selections of smartphones, televisions and appliances are shown with prices in Saudi riyals.
How to grow
There is no organic promotion for an outside author here: you cannot start a channel and grow followers. A publication's material lands in the personal feeds of readers who have selected that publication: the reader adds favourite sources and follows them. About advertising the platform writes that it is shown inside personalized content and is targeted by artificial intelligence algorithms.
The advertising dashboard offers four campaign objectives: brand awareness, driving traffic, conversions and engagement. As examples the platform publishes case studies for Audi, Emirates, Huawei with the promotion of the P30 Pro, and Arab Bank. They carry no dates; the mention of the P30 Pro (a 2019 device) suggests that some of the examples are old.
Path to monetization
Nabd does not pay creators. There is no revenue-share programme, no payments to publications and no creator fund here. Money moves from advertisers to the platform and from readers to the platform.
Earning as a blogger is impossible here: there is no publishing mechanism. A publication can count only on click-throughs to its own site.
What the platform monetizes:
- Advertising — a self-service dashboard of its own.
- A paid subscription — «نبض الذهبي» (Nabd Gold): subscribe to «Golden Nabd» and read the news without advertising. Google Play confirms that in-app purchases exist.
- Product deals — the deals.nabd.com showcase.
Tools and automation
The only mention of a programmatic interface in the platform's documents is someone else's: the agreement states that the service uses YouTube API Services and that, by using the service, you agree to YouTube's terms.
Its own tools are behind a login: the Nabd AdManager advertising dashboard and the reader's personal account.
Limits and rules
The legal construction deserves attention: two different legal entities appear in a single document.
The user agreement was updated on 20 May 2024 and says that the site is operated by Nabd Ltd. and that the service is protected by the laws of Kuwait and other countries. But in two places in the same document another entity is mentioned: the trademarks may not be used without the written consent of Waveline Media FZ-LLC. This is indirectly confirmed by the Android app identifier com.waveline.nabd. In Apple's directory the seller is given as NABD Limited and the developer as Nabd Ltd.
The privacy policy is dated older than the agreement: the effective date is 11 May 2020.
The stores assign the app mild ratings: a USK rating of «all ages» in Google Play and «4+» in Apple's directory.
Who it's for
It suits Arabic-language publications that need an additional distribution channel: an aggregator with a multi-million audience and a country breakdown across the Middle East and North Africa. But the platform does not publish the terms of getting in among the sources, so you cannot plan the channel in advance.
It suits advertisers working with an Arabic-speaking audience, especially in the Gulf, Egypt and the Levant: the self-service dashboard is open and registration requires no documents.
It does not suit bloggers, creators and brands that want to run a channel of their own here: you cannot publish on Nabd. It does not suit those who need public rates: there is not a single price on the open pages. And it does not suit those working with a non-Arabic-speaking audience.
