Namba
Platform · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.
Overview
Namba (namba.kg) is a Kyrgyz project that is still listed in directory registries as a social network. As of the check date that is not so. At namba.kg you land on the showcase page of a financial app: the platform describes itself as «Namba One — the first national fintech of Kyrgyzstan. E-wallet, transfers and payments, online services, marketplace, loans and cash-out — all in one app».
The site consists of two pages — a description of the app and the tiers and limits page. There is no feed, no profiles, no blogs, no communities and no way to publish anything on it. The only internal click-through from the home page leads to the limits page, and everything else is fonts, images and scripts.
The operator is Regionalnye Platyozhnye Sistemy LLC (ОсОО «Региональные платёжные системы»), the holder of licences from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. The settlement rules are published separately, on the payment system's site nambaone.app.
For social media management that means: there are no presence tools here, but there is payment infrastructure that a business works with as a merchant.
Who's here
The platform publishes no audience figures. Neither the showcase page, nor the tiers page, nor the settlement rules gives a number of installs, a number of active users or a breakdown by city.
The only verifiable geographic fact is the jurisdiction. The rules of the settlement system explicitly limit its operation by territory: the Rules set out the conditions and procedures that enable transactions with «NambaPay» electronic money on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. The licences were issued by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and are named with numbers and dates: No. 3018041215 and No. 2018041215 of 4 December 2015 and No. 7002260821 of 26 August 2021.
Languages: the site is served in Russian at the root address and in English at namba.kg/en, where the same self-description reads «Namba One — the first national fintech of Kyrgyzstan». The language switcher on the showcase page offers these same two versions. There is no Kyrgyz version of the site behind the links we checked.
Getting started
Registration happens not on the site but in the mobile app. The showcase page invites you to scan a QR code and download the app in the App Store or Google Play; there are no other ways in.
After that a three-step tier system applies, and the platform describes it with numbers. The tiers and limits page names three levels:
- «Basic» — available immediately after registering in the app. It gives unlimited payment with linked bank cards and unlimited transfers to the state budget, plus payment by QR. The available balance, top-ups, payment from the account and transfers are all zero — that is, the wallet itself does not work at this level.
- «Advanced» — available after online identification for residents of the Kyrgyz Republic. The available balance is 200,000, top-ups 200,000 at a time and 400,000 a month, transfers to a Namba user 100,000 at a time and 200,000 a month, transfers to a bank card, an e-wallet and a bank account 100,000 at a time and 400,000 a month.
- «Pro» — available after offline confirmation at a Namba office. The available balance is 400,000, top-ups and payments 400,000 at a time and 800,000 a month, all types of transfer 400,000 at a time and 800,000 a month.
The unit of measurement is not labelled on the page; by context (a Kyrgyz operator, licences from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic) it is the national currency, but that is not stated in words.
For companies the procedure is different. The settlement rules specify that legal entities and sole traders go through the full identification and verification procedure in accordance with the law.
What you can publish
Nothing. The platform has no publishing function: no page, feed, comment or profile with entries exists in today's version of Namba.
The closest thing to a «presence» is the commerce showcase. The platform reports that a marketplace works inside the app: One Market — thousands of goods from Kyrgyzstan, China, the USA and other countries with home delivery. Rules for listing goods, requirements for a seller and terms of joining are not described on the open pages.
How to grow
The platform has no audience growth mechanics, because there is no audience in the sense of followers. The acquisition tool the platform describes itself is monetary incentives for the buyer: bonuses credited for purchases in the marketplace and for paying for services, which can be spent on the next purchases, and a one-off offer of «a gift of 500 som on any goods with a first order from 3000 som».
The platform has no advertising dashboard: the pages we checked have no advertiser section, no placement rates and no enquiry form. The only «placement» the platform describes is participation in the payment system as an acceptor. The rules define an acceptor as a legal entity or sole trader that, under a contract with the issuer or an agent, accepts electronic money in payment for goods or services and draws up supporting documents.
The platform gives no public description of built-in statistics, reach analytics or any metrics at all for an external partner.
Path to monetization
The platform does not pay creators, because it has no creators. No revenue-share programmes, donations or partner programmes for content creators exist on the pages we checked.
There are two ways to earn through Namba, and both are commercial rather than creative.
Accepting payments. A company or a sole trader becomes an acceptor or an agent. The rules describe the roles: an agent is a legal entity or sole trader, resident or non-resident, that distributes «NambaPay» electronic money under an agency contract with the issuer. An agent's duties are set out in detail: to acquaint the user with the rules and the offer, to state the size of the commission for distributing electronic money in a form that can be perceived, and to issue a receipt with the agent's identification code, address, telephone number, the date and time of the transaction, the amount of cash accepted, the currency and amount of electronic money and the amount of commission paid.
Instant payouts to staff. The platform names a separate service: instant payouts for employees in the service sector and the HoReCa industry. There are no terms or rates on the open page.
Top-up commissions are published not on namba.kg but on the payment system's site: there you find a table of top-up sources with rates — Visa 2 %, MasterCard 3 %, Elcart 1 %, MBank 1 %, Optima24 0.5 %, Bakai24 0.5 %, O!Dengi 0 %, Kassa 24 0 %, Namba One 0 %. These figures belong to the operator and relate to topping up the wallet, not to a business accepting payments.
Tools and automation
The platform has no public API: no developer section, no documentation and no app registration form on the checked domains. Connecting a business is described as contractual: the settlement rules work with categories of participants — the issuer, agents, sub-agents, merchants, aggregators, service providers and holders of electronic money — and joining the system is formalised by contract rather than by self-service.
No known scheduling or analytics service claims support for Namba — there is nothing to publish here.
On the technical side the platform states that it has PCI DSS certification, associate membership and the status of a strategic partner of the VISA payment system, and direct membership of the national payment system Elcart, and also compatibility with the interbank system ELQR — payment through thousands of acceptance points in Kyrgyzstan and transfers from the apps of banks and wallets that support ELQR.
Limits and rules
- Territory: transactions with «NambaPay» electronic money take place on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Identification: online identification is only for residents of the Kyrgyz Republic; the highest tier is only available after offline confirmation at an office.
- Limits: strict and stepped, from a zero balance at the basic level to 400,000 at the «Pro» level.
- Data retention: the rules require that the user's and the beneficial owner's forms be kept for at least five years after the business relationship ends, and information about all transactions carried out for at least five years after the transaction is completed.
- Publishing content: impossible — there is no such function.
- The regulator: the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic; the licences are named with numbers and dates in the site footer.
Who it's for
It suits businesses in Kyrgyzstan that need to accept electronic money and work with the local payment infrastructure: the acceptor and agent roles are described, the licences are named, and the commissions are partly published.
It suits service-sector and HoReCa companies that need instant payouts to staff — the platform names this as a separate service.
It does not suit social media management in any form. You cannot start a page here, publish material, gather followers, buy advertising or measure reach. If you came here because Namba was mentioned in a list of social networks, that mention describes the platform's past, not its present state.
